Okay, so we are a week or so late for Earth Day, but Common Grounds has been doing a lot for our planet. Of course we recycle, but did you know that we compost? All of our scraps and coffee grounds go into a compost pile. Benji and Sarah Bergstrand maintain the compost pile and use it to grow vegetables in a large garden. Common Grounds then receives the vegetables for your sandwiches. Common Grounds has also started to use energy efficient light bulbs, environmentally friendly chemical products, and we have been watching our water usage. We hope we can encourage you to help out the environment. Start with one or two things, it will make a difference.
A few baristas from Common Grounds and a couple of our friends decided to get a jump start on cleaning the Riley. For three hours we cleaned, finding a dog house roof, kid’s toys, clothes, a saw, and lots of cardboard. The Riley now looks a little better, but you can help with the Bluffton Village clean up scheduled May 10.

Finally, spring is here and we are introducing our new fruity Italian Sodas for the season. Try Lime, Pink Grapefruit, Pomegranate, Kiwi, Orange, Lemon, Raspberry, Blueberry, or Cherry. What a great way to bring in the Summer!!!!
You know it’s warmer when you drive by Common Grounds and see the tables and chairs out. So don’t be cooped up in your office at lunch. Come over and enjoy a great lunch outside in the beautiful sunshine.
Brooke Gessner has been with Common Grounds for 8 months and has become a great addition to our family. We appreciate all her hard work and are really happy to have her. Keep up the great work Brooke!!!!
